Better way to get to a shape in sculpt mode
I spend a lot of my Dreamtime in sculpt mode, pushing shapes around. The thing that most often trips me up is resizing a shape I've previously placed with the size tool. Often I want to resize it in a direction that is obscured by other shapes, and then it can be impossible to get the imp to "reach" the resize handles on that side. The only solution I've found is to move the shape away, resize it and then move it back, but it can be fiddly to get it back where it was. Also it usually won't work for negative shapes since they can't be found again if moved away from the sculpt.
I propose a way to tell the imp which shape I currently care about and ignore all others, regardless of camera angle. That is, they would still be visible as usual, just that the imp would no longer select them when hovering over them. This way, I could just find the shape I want to resize, select it and then rotate to where I can get to the resize handle I need and pull it.
Not sure how it would work exactly, maybe by holding a button (L1?) when hovering over the shape? Anyway, something like that would be a substantial improvement!
That is a useful work-around for the cases where it's really tricky to put it back where it was! Still, resizing shapes out of place means you can't see the result immediately.
Yeah, this would be useful for sure.
For positive shapes, a tip would be to turn on the grid with a large grid size. Move the shape away, turn grid off and stretch it and such. Then turn grid on and move it back again. Not ideal, I know.
