Cannot use the Playstation Network features in this application due to age restrictions
I have a very sad 10 year old who thinks Dreams is the very best game he ever played, but he is not able to use the full power of Dreams because of age restrictions. When starting dreams, the message "Cannot use the Playstation Network features in this application due to age restrictions" appears, and Dreams stays in offline mode for him: "You are in offline mode and playing the restricted dreams experience"
Who would ever want to play the restricted dreams experience?!
Please Media Molecule, how can I find a way around this? Dreams is one of the most child friendly games we ever found on the PS4, I am so sorry to see that this is not available to my kids!
Since Playstation Network Family Sharing allows the parents to have a great deal of control as to what children are able to access and to what degree they can interact with online content, I feel that this restriction is obsolete . Please open it up to the relevant "family sharing" preferences so that we can have our kids individual accounts to be able to access this amazing creation tool in its entirety. I feel there is so much potential for kids to be able to use the whole suite with sharing enabled.

I’m having this issue as well. In the beginning I couldn’t use Dreams online with my account, till I changed the age restrictions to 12 and then back to “allowed”. It works now, but it won’t work on my kids accounts, even with all age restrictions turned off. Is there a way to fix this?
I have the same issue and have removed the age restrictions on their account but it still doesn't let them get online, have submitted a bug here please upvote: https://feedback.indreams.me/forums/917431-dreams-bugs/suggestions/40080991-issue-with-updated-age-restriction-cannot-use-the

I am having a similar problem with my 13 year old grandson. He can't join me to play Dreams using "Play Share". I want to guide him through curated games. He can't come to my house due to COVID-19. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!
The game is rated T for Teen--I think the cut off is 12. So they legally have to have those restrictions in place.
I think you should be able to change the allowed rating on the account in question to allow them to play Dreams?
Unfortunately the restriction is in place because Dreams is rated 12/T so there may be content in the Dreamiverse which the ratings board deem inappropriate for a 10 year old. The best way to get around this would be for your child to play on the master account, or on a new account while being supervised.
Hope this helps and super glad to hear you're both enjoying Dreams!
