Timeline position needs an input in the menu
For the longest time I thought there was no way to control the timeline position because there is no input in the menu.
I just learned today that you can plug it into the bottom of the play position and I don’t understand why there’s a timeline output but no input in the menu.
I agree. Also I think it's minor, as once someone points it out it's perfectly usable (I seem to show it every other tutorial because I use this feature so much XD). I wouldn't say it's broken--as you cannot use something if it's broken. But also it would be better for newcomers if it were a normal input. So perhaps just a poor design on this score.
Agree! I too spent ages wrestling with this issue some months ago! By being *appologetic* towards these little idiosyncratic issues, it kind of alienates newcomers. If everyone (or a portion of people) has to go through the same journey just to figure out how to change the timeline position via input, its broken by design.
You may not have a problem with it yourself, but it is not user friendly or intuitive way of doing it, especially for new players. Logic is meant to be plugged in to a gadgets menu inputs, not timeline visuals thats on a completely different canvas.
Haha... it's a pretty minor inconvenience, to my mind. It would be a nice addition, but I'm not angry I have to open a window, myself ;P
Still have no clue why this is not standard. We almost all use the timelines that way to control animations, and anything that can go on a timeline (which is all gadgets). Please I hate to have to open the whole timeline and try to click on a tiny playhead.
