precision color picking
Motion based control for color picking is not nearly precise enough , we need precise and fast color picking .Actual work efficiency is 3-4/10.
This is also mostly valid for any motion control based tweaks.
For me it would be enough if I could just resize the color selector... maybe with D-Pad when the imp is over it?....
The key here ,is 'IMO', i guess .
Let's say that 10/10 is the ability to pick the exact color you need when you need it.
6 is being ok with random dritf around that.
I very often fight that drift .Even if i scale the color selector to full screen.
IMO There is precise and fast color picking already in the form of a color wheel and triangle which is by no means a 3-4 outta 10 its at least a solid 6. A few paint flecks can serve as fast color and all those colors can be saved as well. It would help if the color picker had those saved colors showing up though.
@ tapgiles The shortcomings of motion control selection.
Dream is like doing virtual impressionism for a lot of people, a natural way of working on so many levels.Probably the shortest bridge i know between brain and 'canevas' (in 3d interactive space ,no less) .The way to chose your colors as it is is very bad an imprecise. This is of real importance.
But i understand some can't see that.
Are we taking about a colour wheel setting in a tweak menu?
@RabidDevilBadger: while I see your point, prioritizing feature development is beyond the scope of this forum. Our "job" here is simply to offer suggestions on new or improved features we would like to see as users, and offer our *opinion* on which ones are more important to us via voting. It's up to Mm to decide if or when they will be worked on.
This is a worthy improvement on the color tools in my opinion. The existence of possible workarounds doesn't make it less important.
I'm not against having better color tools for the record but, this argument really only goes so far. You can delete your palette tools after assigning colors the thermo really isn't a huge issue. Something many dreamers have yet to recognize is dreams may be minimalist but, they've given us the tools to make our own tools which is incredible.
Where I'd like to see an improvement is having the color picker work on all color panels such as properties dialog
I'm not against improvements at all but, much rather see them add features we don't have the ability to access before improving features that are a little lackluster.
RabidDevelBadger but the issue is, if we use a community contribution, it’s taking up thermo. This kinda of feature is common in most (probably all) software that deals with color! It’s the kind of thing that needs to be built in.
some tools you have to develop yourself.
If you want precise colors you have to take the time to either download a palette you can pick from, or use an RGB color picker developed by the community. you can get precise colors, with just a little bit of effort. tho imo it does work with motion controls fine anyways.
