Better Genealogy Management
I’m having a lot of trouble managing my saves in dreams - it’s led to multiple creations being linked so that if I delete one they all must go. In some cases this doesn’t make sense where I’ve deleted the linked assets but the genealogy is still there.
It’s lead to me wanting to start everything from scratch everytime I make something new as the content otherwise becomes cluttered.
It would be great if there could be more guidance on how this works and how to manage it so that I know how to avoid having such cluttered local saves.
It could also help if I could edit an asset in scene. For example - I sculpt a puppet A in one element and save that. I create logic and animate another puppet B and decide I want to copy that logic into puppet A. In order to do so I must input puppet A into puppet Bs scene copy over the logic and save puppet A as a new element - so I have two puppet A elements - one with logic and one with out? Is there a better way to manage this?
A remix is dependant on the thing it remixed. An exported (save as new...) asset will be an element that is a remix of the source creation.
Anything that is dependant on something else must be deleted if the thing it's dependant on is being deleted--otherwise the whole thing wouldn't make sense and the dependant creation wouldn't be able to be published anyway.
That's about it.
