Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. Keep Changes and Slow Power Up conflict

    As soon as I turn on Keep Changes in a keyframe, the Slow Power Up seems to stop working.

    Example from the Keyframes Animation tutorial: stamp a keyframe with Slow Power Up set to 5 seconds and connect it to a trigger zone. Observe how the animation plays very slowly. Now turn on Keep Changes and see how the animation is much faster.

  2. Animating sun direction is now broken

    I had a gadget called "Day Night cycle V2" where I carefully synchronise a Syn&Sky gadget with a rotating physical Sun and Moon.
    It worked well, so that you can have a physical Sun, but synchronised water reflections.
    Now if I edit my keyframes even slightly, it totally breaks the synchronisation.

  3. 1st person camera is not resetting after using a camera gadget.

    I have a first person puppet. I use a timeline to do a flyover of my scene. After the camera timeline ends I would like it to go BACK into first person but it seems to always put the camera inside my character.

  4. Keep changes does not work when animating puppet limbs.

    The limbs stay in position only while the keyframe is powered on, even though it is using "Keep Changes." Procedural animations have been turned off.

  6. Key frame animations Not Looping properly

    Been playing with Dreams for a couple of days and its been a blast.
    But recently I came across a bug in the Dream Shaping Mode while trying to make a infinite animation Loop with Keyframes.

    The idea is to make it look like the character is climbing a never ending building while dodging falling debris.

  8. Action recorder and trigger zone only works once

    I've tried to make two very simple levels so far but keep getting hung up on this issue.

    I want platforms that play their recorded animation when a possessed puppet enters the trigger zone. This always works as intended on the first platform but any time I try to add another one it takes forever to trigger and that's if the platform comes at all. All tweak options are matched with the platform that works as intended and I've tried all other options on two different levels.

    If this isn't a bug and I'm just missing something I apologise butā€¦

  9. Keyframe change not reverting to default after finished recording.

    I've tested this on default puppet. I'm not sure if this is only with the tweaks im using or if theres a larger keyframe change issue.

    To replicate:
    - Stamp in default puppet.
    - Open tweak menu at labels
    - add a keyframe
    - Record switching on two or more labels.
    - Exit out of recording.

    Everything past the first change will still be applied to the puppet.

    Edit; This looks like a visual bug only - when you enter play mode it reverts.

  11. Painting animation settings can be permanently broken

    This painting's animation and physics properties are non-functional, and only work when the game is paused. As soon as the play button is pressed, all animation stops.

    The animation of the moving tentacles was created using the "wind" function, but using the animation tab to animate using the timeline was also tested. Turning animation "off" (setting the slider speed to zero) caused the timeline animation to turn on when played. Nothing allowed the wind animation to play.

    Normal functionality was tested by comparing the jellyfish to the MM "Tree" painting - each tab was set to identical settings, but onlyā€¦

    I created a puppet and made a timeline with three keyframes.

    In the timeline, keyframes play in order as intended with NO SMOOTHING. It snaps to each keyframe in 3 distinct "frames" in the animation.

    When I start time, the puppet smooths into each keyframe as it plays. There is no three distinct frames and plays as one smooth animation.

    Smoothing is turned OFF for each keyframe.
    Procedural animation is OFF for the puppet.
    Default puppet behavior can be deleted; Has no affect on the issue at hand.
    There is no smoothing or curves between each keyframe.

  13. Character dual shock motion direction tilt issues

    when I posses my character with dual shock tilt motion option on. From a rear view of your character tilting back makes him look up. But rotating the view round to the front of the character and tilting the controller back makes him looks down. I can't see why it should make a difference of what side of my character the camera is facing as looking up is looking up

  14. Button doesnā€™t trigger cutscene in cinematic sound design tutorial

    Once in the ā€˜Cinematic Sound Designā€™ tutorial, complete steps all the way up to finalising the sound timeline for the double rising platform cutscene.

    Once you go to trigger said cutscene in play mode, nothing happens upon pressing the button. Almost as if the wiring inside the button hadnā€™t reached the animation of the platforms?

  15. Screen ghosting at high speed

    My shuffleboard game is experiencing ghosting around the puck since update 2.08

    It appears the screen is not updating fast enough so duplicates of the puck are present behind it.

    I was going to upload a video from ps4 but looks like I'll have to do it with a PC instead.

  16. Big problem with possessed recording (its stops)

    We want to Record the driving of a self created vehicle in a Scene we build. But after a few seconds driving the Imp is shown on the screen again and we get the message "test mode left" in a green box at the bottom of the screen.
    I tried tt change the controls of the vehicle but that does not fix the problem.

  17. "Keep changes" Keyframe at frame zero of looping Timeline only works once

    If a Keyframe with a duration of 1 frame and its "Keep Changes" tweak switched on is at frame zero of a looping timeline, it only works on the first pass through the timeline.

    Repro steps:


    1. Create a sculpt.

    2. Create a Timeline.

    3. Set the Timeline to loop.

    4. Set the Timeline's duration to 2 seconds.

    5. Create and start recording a Keyframe at 0 seconds on the Timeline.

    6. Animate the sculpt's "glow" to 30%.

    7. Stop recording.

    8. Turn on the Keyframe's keep changes.

    9. Create and start recording a Keyframe at 1 second on the Timeline.

    10. Animate the sculpt's "glow" to 0%.

    11. Stop recording.
