MAJOR BUG: will not let me publish my dream as it says there is a private asset somewhere.
I have a dream called "unfinished" and it is saying there is a private creation but I'm only trying to post as playable not public. Myself and the other collaborator made sure to go back and publish every single scene used. Please help.
imp quest prizes are still listed as private, They fixed the art's dreams prizes but forgot about the rest. Once an element is stamped into a scene the only way to remove it is to undo the stamp, deleting it does not remove it from the geneology. The Geneolgy credits if a creation was used, but not how a creation was used.
This : How do I even get rid of it when it's not in the scene anywhere?
I can't publish any of the stuff i made because of this. Since I use elements I created in a "workshop" level, in which I used to have an MM creation just for decoration. It is deleted but it doesn't help. This really needs to be fixed now.
Same problem of the “infected” MM asset. It says there is a campfire in my stone column lol
Please fix this...
We had an issue with this to release a new version of 20,000 leagues under the C-. We had to remix the original scene or something to release it.
Experiencing this now. It's telling me a Mm asset and previous versions of very old levels are holding me up. No idea what to do. I've long since deleted this asset.
Were you ever able to Publish? Are we just screwed?
I have this problem! It sucks. Please fix it.
Important and scary corollary to this bug: Let's say you during the course of the project you make something really cool. Like a song that took 5 hours to make. You didn't leave and make a New Element to clutter up your My Creations because you didn't expect it to turn out so well. But it did and now you select the good stuff and hit "Save As New Creation". Haha, that's only a Remix of a "forbidden scene"! If it is a song you can't release it at all because there is no Release As Playable on Audio Elements!
This has happened to me a bunch of times now. What sucks is there's no warning. It shows you an image of the "offending" object when you investigate why it won't release as public. So, you spend hours painstakingly removing all instances of object. Since there is no in-scene search tool you keep wondering if something is still stuck inside a wall or got moved too far from origin to find with Imp. More wasted hours. And it doesn't matter because as soon as you stamped in a building block NM explicitly encouraged you to use, even provided as a reward for finishing a tutorial, your project is doomed.
I figured I'd chime in to say it has happened to me too. I used the temple stairs, scary tree and pillar for testing on a 300+ hour project and I cannot upload it as private or any of the elements made in that scene, and it says it's because of the 3 items mentioned but they've been deleted since.
I suspect as the weeks go on. more players will discover this issue as they are finishing their projects for release. At least it is getting more documentation now so it can be assured will eventually be fixed so our work is not in vain.
This is clearly an issue with MM. They are the only ones with the power to make creation private once they've been public.
This is exactly what this all seems to me. They've possibly updated or replaced assets, and now your save is broken.
I just had the same thing, in my case it was a "Tall Cylinder" that I might've used in the past, but it was in a Microchip, so that doesn't make sense already. Now I can't publish a thing I made, and the issue is definitely on MM's side.
Speaking to Mediamolecule today, as I am having a similar issue and had a minor meltdown on Twitter and they informed me that with the new update, all prizes will be fully remixable, which should solve this issue for some of us,
The issue that anything that once contained a ‘private’ element will forever be tagged in any creation’s genealogy, even when explicitly removed, seems to be a bug that needs addressing.
I have a similar problem!
But I could identify it! I used on my very first scene a couple of Mm Items from the tutorial pack "Light and atmosphere" (I play the german edition, I hope its the right eglish name) because I though the Mm Items are safe. But now this pack is on privat! It's In the same scene I made my main character, so everytime I used it it has "infected" the next scene and all of it's versions. I can nothing make public that contains this charakter. I tried to deleate all Versions with the "infected" charakter/scene, But....there was another problem: Some of the versions are not erasable, because they are in the unerasable online save .
So I found the problem and the source, but the "infected" Scenes, and all the things in it, are not
So I lost all my work from the last weeks :( hundreds of hours are not publishable. I can nothing use what I have done before for other projects.
Please find a solution >< for example make the Source pack(s) publish again would help!
I hope there's a way to save the work of all peaople with similar problems U_U
I'm getting the same thing. https://youtu.be/ZbBEqWrIhTo
It says a banjo instrument (which had a MM label on it, BTW) is private. Fine. I replaced it (doesn't sound nearly as good with steel guitar and nylon string, but w/e) and lo and behold... Still gives me the error. Went through Genealogy and the offending instrument doesn't show up. Only shows up in the error message. Actually, I was having the same problem with prize bubbles, as it said some basic sculpts I made had private content not owned by me (and it said "owner - Bobtheduck" so I don't know who it thinks was trying to place those bubbles)
A possibly unrelated bug is the song preview refuses to change. When I do it, it snaps right back to the weird preview it had when I first made the file. The rubber band thing.
Same happened with me. This is the video of the bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QB0lsLC1jIE
There's no private prizes in my creation.
The steps i took to try and bypass it:
1 - Turn on the invisibility tool and delete any visible and invisible object besides the puppet itself.
2 - Delete the puppet from my scene as well, leaving it completely empty.
3 - Make a remix of the creation (when it contained the puppet only).
4 - Select my puppet and make a new creation from it.
5 - Deleted the puppet from the new creation and added a blank deluxe puppet.
6 - Selected a part of the sculpt of my puppet, scoped out with it (so it wasn't connected to the puppet anymore), and saved that sculpt part as a new creation.
Every one of those attempts led to the creation being unable to save because of the same cat and ruin private creations.
1 - I created a new dream, put these private MM creations there. I could not make the work public. then i deleted those creations from my dream. as soon as i did it, it allowed me to publish the dream.
2 - if i go to https://indreams.me/element/oFDTYjnbNsb (the creation i want to make public) and press "edit now". it opens a version that has both the ruin and the cat in it instead of the latest empty version i saved. Today i saved my creation as private and when i was opening it from the indreams page it opened the correct empty version, but of course without an option to release as public.
Please fix it, wonderful molecules! ( ͒ ඉ .̫ ඉ ͒)
Only problem is when I click the triangle with the exclamation point nothing appears and all of the sub scenes are released as public
I wrote about the same issue in a thread during early access (now archived).
Here is one of the examples I made a version of cuthbert and in a scene containing private creations (Mm prizes) I saved Cuthbert as a New Creation and even though Cuthbert isn't made from any private creations it is seen as such.

The now archived thread included other examples.

Please be assured that we are still looking into this. It is very important to us that we can identify what is causing this issue for you and we need your help!
Could you please provide us with a video which shows:
- Trying to publish the effected Dream in question.
- Use your Imp and press the X button on the triangle warning symbol on the Save Version/Release screen. It is to the right of where it says 'Can't release as PUBLIC'.
- The genealogy of the effected Scene/Dream, showing which elements are 'private'.
- Deleting private elements/prizes and trying to publish again.
It is also worth noting that a Dream cannot be published as playable if it contains private sub-scenes. If there are any sub-scenes in your Dream, they will need to be public also.

Huge problem. I already know 2 people that are done until they fix it and I'm getting more discouraged by the day. All of this started with full release. I just wish they would keep us updated on progress but I havent heard a word from them in 3 or 4 days.
I also have been getting this bug, I thought it was only dreams linked to a collaboration we made public but now it seems that a completely unrelated project says it has private stuff and it doesn't, anything with my cow sculpt in it either and everything in the geneology was public when you click the show private creation it shows nothing, these publishing bugs gotta get fixed theyre becoming a big problem
