Private Creations Causing Release complications EXPLAINED
I posted a bit about this in feedback as well, but it seems the molecules are more focused on bugs at the moment. As well as seeing a lot of you have encountered this issue here in bugs and are unaware whats causing it. So I'll try my best to explain the issue here.
The following video shows two examples of private creations prevented from release. the first example(clarified below the video) is a scene I was unable to release at all, that thankfully I was able to fix, and release as remixable. and the second is a scene I wanted to release as remixable, but am unable to, even after removing the private creations, and I explain why that is the case. As it stands now, I will never be able to release the 2nd example as remixalbe unless MM helps us all out.
Furthermore I should clarlify that I was infact unable to even release a dream as PLAYABLE due the issue of the prizes being private. I think its because there was an earlier version of the scene that was remixable, so dreams had already labeled the scene as such, and wouldn't let me update the playable version, since another version was already listed as public. Only when I could overwrite the public/remixable version, would it let me release the new version as playable. and to do that I had to remove the private creations(I.E. Prizes).
Prizes MUST either be made Public, and/or all private creations must CLEARLY state they are PRIVATE and what that means for your scene. However
Please make them public, I mean "oh no somebody might use a prize before unlocking it" is a much smaller problem then, "oh great, I can't release a dream I spent time and effort on,"
That being said, if you don't plan to release anything as remixable, you should be fine using any prizes atm,...I think?
I have 24 creations, contraptions, characters, even music tracks that are somehow linked with a prize, a crow, that I placed in a one contraption, and despite going back and deleting the ‘prize’ nothing can be released as public because they are all tagged as still containing the damned crow! A case of the crow-ona virus!
I concur private creations must CLEARLY state they are PRIVATE and what that means for your scene or creation.
This is how prize bubbles work. If those assets were public, then there would be no point in the prize bubbles. I can understand your frustration though.
I have had the same issue, but more annoyingly the 'private' content is a Media Molecule soundtrack, I used for testing in an early component already deleted.
If MM want to encourage sharing, flagging their 'free' stuff as private does not set a good example.
I concur and am very much supporting this, thanks for helping clearing up!
