Issue with updated age restriction (Cannot use the Playstation Network features)
I am trying to get my child set up in Dreams, they have their own PSN account. When the game loads it keeps saying network features disabled (offline mode).
The first time I launched the game on this account the age content on the account was set to 12, but I have now changed this to 18. Even changing the PS4 setting to temporarily lift all parental restrictions doesn't work.
I’ve tried removing all restrictions in family management for their account, logging out, deleting saved data and restarting the game.
Surely should be possible to get online again on this account? I wonder if it is a bug with what age restrictions were in place on first load, then it doesn’t ‘re-check’ if restrictions were lifted.
Dreams works fine on my own (parent) account. PS and Dreams both up-to-date and no other PSN issues.
The account name is with the issue is EnergonPrime.
Hello SpaceCmdr and Wesley Riot
I’m very sorry about the difficulty that you’re having with your child restricted accounts playing Dreams.
Unfortunately this restriction is in place because Dreams is rated 12/T so there may be content in the Dreamiverse which the ratings boards would deem inappropriate for an account that is under this age.
Modifying the Age Restriction settings on a child account will allow them to play a game offline of that age rating but this will not be able to change the online age rating of the game of which the ability to play, is governed by the date of birth of the account.
There’s actually a really nice video that you can see here which explains the situation that you are encountering:
You do give a very good example of Rocket League and how their account can play it online, however Rocket League’s age rating is 3/E so if your child’s account is anywhere from 3+ they will be able to play online, however because Dreams age rating is 12/T they need to be 12 years old (EU)/13 years old (US) in order to actually play online.
When you setup the account you set the date of birth at the same time, unfortunately as this governs online play, there is no way to change it without 12/13 years being reached, it is incredibly frustrating as this is not really explained on the system.
I really hope that this helps explain the problem that you are having, unfortunately there is no way of fixing it with the EnergonPrime account other than awaiting them turning 12/13 depending on your region, or having them play on another account.
If however the account is question is over 12 years old (as of today a date of birth 31/07/2008 or older), please let me know!
@QA Team - yes the issue still persists. I updated the Dreams today to version 2.14 and updated the system to 7.51 to verify. With the same account I am able to play online in Rocket League.
Please fix this, it has been a long time since this error report. Our family have not been able to play Dreams properly as a result.

Thank you for reporting the issue, could you please let us know if this issue is still occurring if so does this happen with any other online games? Thank you again.

Same issue. What a stupid, infuriating game
I think if it's a "child" or "sub" account, things can become locked down because of that, regardless of the settings you've got for that account.
