Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. Keyframing A Signal Manupulator's Signal type (ease-in, clamp values ext) Doesnt show which one you are chaning it to

    The only thing you have to go by is either remembering the order of the list, or looking at the shape of the output signal.

  2. Y inversion does not work on L1 camera

    I use Y inversion, traveling around normally I push forward to look down, and back to look up. But holding the L1 key during the tutorial it suddenly reverses and opposite of normal. I have to push up to move the camera up (it should go down to match Y reversal) and when pushing down on R stick it should move up, but instead moves down. This is very confusing and goes against the whole idea of being able to reverse Y on games.

  3. Saving a new creation via Edit Source causes name and type prompt to not be displayed

    Create a new (element/scene) creation.

    Add an object to it, select it, and choose ā€œsave as new creation.ā€

    Choose ā€œEdit Sourceā€ for that new creation.

    You will be prompted whether to save your current creation. Choose Yes.

    The creation gets saved as a Scene, with the default name.

    I would expect to be prompted for a type and name at this point. Now the only way I can convert it into an element is by remixing it, meaning I have an extra file to deal with, which canā€™t be deleted because itā€™s been remixed.

  4. Issues when deleting stamped Curve shapes in a Sculpt

    Two issue that are quite similar to produce, both seem to only occur when using the Stamp tool with a Curve shape in Sculpt Mode:

    Stamp a Curve
    Stamp any other shape
    Stamp another Curve thatā€™s tapered at one end
    Delete the original Curve and the second one suddenly takes on a dark color

  5. Sculpt changes scale, placement, orientation, cannot undo

    Go into Sculpt Mode and Stamp/smear 1 shape
    Scope out to Assembly Mode and move, rotate, or resize the sculpt.
    Scope back into the Sculpt, delete the initial shape, and stamp/smear a new one.
    Scope out to Assembly Mode ad run time. The sculpt will have moved, rewinding time does not reset.

    It appears that the changes made to the sculpt in Assembly Mode have some residual effect when the initial shape in a sculpt is deleted.
    This issue does not appear to affect Paintings.
    I reported this during EA as well, sorry if itā€™s already beenā€¦

  6. when adding to group group shows 0 selected while imp is over it.

    select 2 objects you will see group says 2 objects has been selected, move the imp to the group button then the group will say 0 objects has been selected.

  7. Toy names in Art's Dream

    Throughout Art's Dream, the names of three of the toy characters are written differently in the subtitles in various scenes. The lack of consistency is a bit confusing and looks like a mistake.

    These are some of the variations I remember:

    ā— D-BUG, D-bug, Dbug

    ā— ELE-D, Ele-D

    ā— ROOT-R, Root-R, root-R

    That last one in particular (root-R) must be a typo. It shows up in the scene The Reunion when you select the dialogue line called "D-BUG and ELE-D".

  8. Collections losing tags

    Collections seem to randomly lose tags when updated (more specifically, on the save version page tags will sometimes be missing. If you back out without saving the tags won't be lost). I have experienced this with all my collections. The amount of lost tags seems to be completely random, the same collection sometimes loses only a few tags, sometimes all. Every single of my collections have had all their tags completely removed (and re-added by me) at least once. Some multiple times.

    The most recent case (on version 2.05):

  10. Controller sensor player number does not set correctly with wires


    1. Placed a controller sensor on an object with buttons activating movers, etc.

    2. Set the possession mode to remote control and player number to Player 2 only.

    3. Set up a counter that, when full outputs a signal to activate Player 1 input and deactivate Player 2 input (using NOT gate).

    4. Observe that when counter is changed, Player 1 and Player 2 light up in the correct circumstances.

    Bug: Even when Player 1 is lit up and Player 2 is not, Player 2 still controls the sensor. The default player number setting is used despite the wired inputs and the appearance ofā€¦

  11. Imp quests dialogue line replays every time.

    After completing the homespace tutorial and getting the early access exclusive imp, I entered the imp quests list and the dialogue line played explaining them. Before this finished I selected one of the imp quests to check its progress and then exited to the list of imp quests again.

    The dialogue line replays again every time you enter the imp quests list.

  12. Mm Pick heart behaves strangely when rotating Mm picked Dreams in a collection and clips through creations in similar creations

    Steps to reproduce

    1) Edit a collection
    2) Find an Mm picked Dream
    3) Rotate it

    As seen in the attached picture ("Mm picks heart rotating wrongly.jpg"), the Mm picks heart does not keep its position relative to the Dream when rotated.

    Additionally, when Mm picked dreams are listed in Similar creations (and possibly genealogy) the Heart icon of the backmost Dream will show through the creations in front as seen in the other attached picture ("Mm picks heart clipping.jpg").

  13. No text animation after copying text from one gadget to another

    I found out by accident that text can be copied from a text displayer to a dialogue displayer or vice versa (You have to select the empty displayer, open the tweak menu on the displayer that contents the text you want to copy, open the "enter text" field and close it again with R2). I assume that is an intended function.

    I was hoping to copy quite a lot of text files this way to be able to use the options of the dialogue displayer. Unfortunately it seems to interpret the copied text as one letter as it displays theā€¦

    Hello LadyLexUK

    Thank you for your post, There an issue were tracking for this in out database.

    This issue appears to affects specific puppets, and only when taking photos via the cover page of the creation.

    You should be able to take photos of your character without the waist changing position. If you own the scene you should be able to take photos in edit mode or in play mode without this issue occurring.

  16. And today's swear word is: Preprocessor

    So I was trying to make a microchip called an "Accurate Comparison Preprocessor" - it makes the minimum adjustment to a pair of values to place their midpoint at an odd multiple of 0.005.

    But when I tried to set the microchip's title, "preprocessor" got Scunthorped to prepro*****r. Looks like another profanity needs an "only profane if whole word" restriction.

  18. Ruler with 10,000m dimension: "edit cancelled, would make object too big"


    • Place a new ruler.

    • Edit one of the dimensions to be 10,000m: the maximum allowed length.

    Deleting, undo deletion, or redoing deletion produces the message in the title of this post.

  19. Follower Gadget Center based on Sculpture Detail

    I posted a bug a few months ago and I didn't see that Pawel F. Replied asking for a Dream or Video showing the bug on February 6th until now. I'm really sorry. But I captured a quick 30s video showing exactly how it's bugged.

    Is this link good enough?

    Basically the bug is that when the sculpture detail is lowered, the Follower gadget center is pushed around. Compared to the Teleporter gadget where it stays rock solid in the middle, no matter the sculpture detail.

    I'm not sure if other gadgets are effected but it's worth looking into.

  20. There is a bug that occurs when a sound effect is turned into an instrument, then turned back into a sound effect.

    Boot game >
    start creating a new element ( was working on a character model) >
    open a microchip >
    record some audio >
    place some other gadget that accepts inputs (I tested a counter, a timer, and a signal manipulator) >
    Open recorded audio's tweak menu >
    Notice it is already a sound effect (the sound type setting on the bottom of the first page) >
    > Go to the outputs tweak page
    > Notice there are only two outputs, is playing and envelope
    > Change sound type to instrument, then check "outputs page again
    >There are now severalā€¦
