Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. The entire game world turns when I use VR in create mode

    When I use VR the game world shifts slightly every once and a while and it seems it can only be fixed by turning off my headset or closing the application. As you can imagine this is very upsetting considering this only happens in dreams. With dreams being one of my favorite games I truly hope this is fixed in the near future.

  2. Movers in a timeline continue to play if immediately followed by a rotator

    I was trying to set up a timeline that would make a cube walk around in a square. So I created a looping timeline where the 1st second is a mover that takes it 2m forwards, and the 2nd second is a rotator that makes it turn 90 degrees right.

    If I have no delay between these gadgets on the timeline the cube continues moving while it's rotating resulting in a strange curved square. If I put a slight delay between the gadgets it works as expected.

  3. Scaling tutorial bug makes it impossible to progress to create mode without wiping all dreams data from your ps4.

    Urgent QA message for the new Dreams tutorial!

    When I was going through the scaling home space editor tutorial my friend somehow made the rectangle disappear permanently and it won't respawn on restarting or resetting.

    Hear ye hear ye!

    Make a restart tutorial option or some other such fix you deem appropriate. Class A bug! Completely locks players out of create mode! šŸ””šŸ””šŸ””

  4. Puppet base breaks z sorting for rendering selection highlights of puppet's sculpts

    When scoped into a puppet, even when the puppet base is behind the puppet's sculpts, it's always considered to be in front of the puppet's sculpts for the purpose of rendering their selection highlights.

    Repro steps:


    1. Create a puppet.

    2. Scope into the puppet.

    3. Select one of the puppet's sculpts.

    4. Adjust the camera angle so that the puppet base is partially behind the selected sculpt.

    Observed: The selection highlight is rendered around the part of the sculpt that doesn't obscure the puppet base, as if the puppet base were in front of the sculpt instead of behind it.

  5. Scrolling back when browsing elements in Dream Shaping

    This bug occurs when browsing elements in Dream Shaping.

    If I view an element, and go back to the "Search Results" by pressing circle, the list stutters for a moment, and "goes back" to 10-20 elements before, meaning my search starts again. It does not go back to the absolute start of the list.

    To recreate this:
    Enter Dream Shaping
    Press Search
    Filter Criteria
    Use sticks to scroll the relevant elements at the bottom of the screen
    Browse through and view 3 or 4 different elements.
    Eventually, pressing circle to return refreshes the elements and takes you back to earlierā€¦

  6. Publishing element failed

    I'm having an issuing publishing about 15 scenes as public. I have 15 scenes that had been built based off a previous scene. When I go to publish it gives me publishing element failed. I went back and published every element it was showing needing to be released to publish the 15 scenes.

    Now the "original scene" for the 15 is showing published I can open and save it public no problem. Yet when I open any of the following scenes it says I need to make that "original scene" public. It's asking me to make public a specific olderā€¦

  7. Update Mode Won't Let Me Select Object

    Tried playing my level through with headphones, only to realize there was a sound effect stamped somewhere in the scene I didn't want to play. So i went into Update mode, and pressed select object so I could delete the sound effect. Only every time I press select object, it just sends me back into edit mode without anything selected so I can't delete the sound. Please help!!! Is this a glitch, or am I doing something wrong?

  8. I tried to animate the text box in text displayer go from blue to red(yellow and green route)

    When you do so.... It will go black somewhere in the animation and when it finished it will go back to normal.

  10. Paint is broken

    I had a sculpture of a cigarette with smoke trailing off of it and now the trail of smoke is completely gone without me even touching the thing. This bug started to happen a couple of weeks right after the vr update. Can I even trust this game to make a game???

    Has this happened to more than one painting or just this specific one?

    Is it still happening with any new painted objects since the update?

  11. First Person Camera Puppet Bug

    Since the latest update when camera distance is at 0m on puppet camera to create first person, the puppet disappears, very frustrating. Happens with basic generic puppets even.

    Please fix as soon as possible this really affects my dream in development.

  12. Selector currently selected port input overwritten by port inputs

    Lets assume we are dealing with a 3 port selector in passthrough mode.
    There is an input to the "currently selected" port (lets say 2). This should force the selector to only passthrough port 2, BUT if one wires all the inputs to the 3 ports to one signal, the selector will switch (probably for 1 frame, I did not test for timing) to port 3 before setting back to port 2 when a signal hits.

    This is rather frustrating because in order to work around this (for now) one must sacrifice a "dummy" port at the bottom of theā€¦

  13. Number Displayer acts like a N2 Norm

    Although I see it as a "feature", I think this should be a "bug":
    When one links a fatwire with 2-4 values into the input of a Number Displayer, it's output becomes the N2 Norm auf the values.

    Please fix this bug only if there will be an equivalent new calculator entry for the N2 Norm, since this "bug" saves quite a lot of Thermo.

  14. My dreams randomly corrupted and made me loose almost a half a year of hard long work

    Man I was calm in my mind but I knew at any moment I would explode. I now feel extremely unsafe making games in dreams now. I honestly feel like selling my ps4 and forgetting games as a hole. My data randomly corrupted just now and I lost half a year of progress. I mean hard core progress. HOURS per DAY type of progress. Luckly I had 1 more day of playstation plus and this allowed me to download my auto back up from today. Had I not had psn I would've lost everything. I now feel dreams is theā€¦

  15. Text boxes displayed on screen bugs

    Here are some things I discovered to be misbehaving using on screen text displayers


    • Text handles shouldn't scale with the text because in the case of an icon such as the <X> button, when you make it really big you can't move it on the screen on either axis because the handles that scale take priority over movement as they are as big as the big icon itself.


    • Text box handles work, but won't visually show up when text is on top of another (think of a text over a background layer)

  16. Notifications do not return to where you left it

    To say I am disappointed in this is an understatement. I get nearly 40 notifications or more a day and what I like to do is go through them methodically and put game links into play later, and answer any queries. Now however I am forced to the beginning of the list EVERY TIME I ACCESS ANYTHING. This is beyond awful.

  17. Comparator calculators are not precise enough

    By 'comparator' I'm referring to any calculator gadget which is set to 'less than', 'greater than' or 'equal to' (< > =).

    The issue is that there's a threshold where the calculator output incorrectly changes to a 0 or 1, before the input value(s) match what they're being compared to.

    An easy way to check this is with a calculator set to '= 0'. Connect a number displayer to its output.

    Using the A input, supply it with an input value of 0.005
    The number displayer will correctly display an output of 0.

    Now change the input to 0.004

  18. Teleporting child object

    I have an immovable parent sculpt connected via string to a movable child object (puppet in this case). When teleporting the child object I notice the parent sculpt moves. Seems to have nothing to do with the max string length. Is this a bug?

  19. 2 two-way doorways

    Anyone know if it is possible for a scene to have 2 two-way doorways? For example, as in you have a scene that you want to be able to go to/from both the previous and next scenes. Driving me insane.

    I have a named controller sensor. I have two-way door A (named A) powered only by the exit signal to go to the previous scene. I also have a two-way door B (names B) powered only by the exit to go the next scene. In the dream I have this scene as a middle scene with door A to previousā€¦

  20. Animation being deleted

    I made an animation of dolphins jumping in the water. I find that the dolphins complete 3 loops of the jump animation before disappearing, accompanied by the message "object deleted- too far from center of origin". In case it matters, timeline with related keyframes is suspended in the air quite close to the dolphins.
    ā€¢ steps to recreate: load reflection by gawen_3 (https://indreams.me/scene/dQLVwkLnuYk), walk forward until you reach the exit area, and watch dolphins disappear from the nearby water. No other in-game actions are required. Appearance and absence have been observable in play mode, edit mode, and testā€¦
