Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. Dialogue gadget skip button is not displayed


    • Load game > go to create mode > stamp Dialogue gadget, open tweak menu > setting skip button and visible > start test play mode > Skip button is not displayed

    I'm not in trouble, I just want to know what the skip button does.

  3. My original object works, but copies act up.

    I'm making a ride currently that I want to share with the community.

    The original acts fine as 1 grouped object, but -if I make or import a copy- the physics acts up as demonstrated in this video:

  4. ā€œUnable to find fileā€ on quick save

    I got a very strange bug where, when I tried to quick save my game, I got the prompt ā€œunable to find fileā€. I thought nothing of it, but when I went back into my game, I realized that all of my gadgetsā€™ names were reset back to default, effectively rendering the tags and receivers and transmitters useless! Thankfully, that was only a duplicate file, and the version just before it was just fine. Not quite sure what just happened.

  5. Painting using up alot more memory than it should.

    I made a hanging scroll with words written on it in paint mode. The simplest part of the painting are the words themselves, yet that part uses up nearly 10% of graphics memory! I thought maybe I put too much detail into emulating brush strokes so I deleted every, single, fleck.... all but one, and that one fleck was apparently still worth 10% graphics memory.

  6. Object's Z Axis value changes when leaving Shape Editor

    For some reason, sometimes when you exit the Shape Editor, the Z Axis value of your object will have changed and it's placed farther in the distance.

  7. Movers Cause Anti-Grav with 0% Dampening, 100% Strength, and 0 speed

    When placing a Mover on an Object and making the applied force go up with the gizmo, and having 100% Strength, and 0% Dampening the object is on will float, unless an outside force is applied to it.
    This is with speed set to 0, so the mover should technically not even be trying to do anything but somehow it is able to apply "force" even with 0 speed.

    To reproduce.
    1. Sculpt a cube.
    2. Snap a mover to it.
    3. Set mover gizmo to point up, then set the strength to 100%, dampening to 0%, and speed toā€¦

  8. Told to rebuild PS4 database after launching game from suspend point

    I'm not 100% sure this related to Dreams, but I'll throw this on here since it happened while in-game.

    Some context: I have a lot of games on my external hard drive connected to my PS4. Dreams is installed on the internal HDD. I tend to have another app, like Twitch or YouTube, open or suspended when I switch back to Dreams, or vice versa to avoid the initial launch load times. The last instance I had to restart my PS4 to rebuild my database was a month ago. I don't remember what I did, but it was likely Dreamsā€¦

  9. trying to edit songs from beta. nothing is playing. did i miss something or are these songs gone? tried the update option, no go.

    all of my old songs are now silent. did the retail release kill em for good? is there a way to get em back?

  10. In maps and collections, the camera continues to pan while the right stick is tilted

    Open a collection or a Dream map and tilt the right stick up.

    Tilt and release the left stick in any direction.

    Observe that the view continues panning after the left stick was released.

  12. My enemy (puppet deluxe) wonā€™t emit again after emitting once

    So I have a puppet/creature that Iā€™m using as an enemy in my game that Iā€™m working on. I made him during early access and Iā€™ve had no problems with him during that time. But once I upgraded to the full game I noticed that he wonā€™t emit more than once. Just to make sure that it wasnā€™t just a problem with my level, I did the same set up in a new scene and I still had the same problem. So I tried the same thing with other objects and another deluxe puppet and they worked just fine. Itā€¦

  13. Clipping through terrain

    I have a selector which chooses different types of terrain by activating key frames which make the ground collidable and visible. The issue is that if a character walks up to a part of the terrain they can walk through it.
    The collision for that terrain is definitely on. I've tried other physics options (low medium and high) all the same result.
    The strange part is that if I enter create mode then go back to play mode. The terrain is fixed to what it should be but that wont work for other players of my dream.

  14. Forever Popular Bug

    The "Forever Popular" section is still having issues after the full release. It typically does not update the daily and weekly sections after going into rest mode. Games stay in the "Most daily liked" section for multiple days. I've found that quitting and restarting the game can sometimes update the Dreamiverse.

  15. Old jam showing in DreamShaping

    As I speak, there's still a banner at the top of DreamShaping saying "Enter the Community Jame! Love"--which ended 10 or so hours ago.

  16. My scoreboard got reset

    The scoreboard for my game Cow Runner (https://indreams.me/dream/mDfNtxjxTsn) got reset. I definitely have not edited the game or the scoreboard, but noticed this morning that most of the scores had been deleted.

    Something must have happened yesterday, because the only scores on it now are from either today or yesterday.

    Restoring the lost scores is probably out of the question, but I'd still like to know what happened and what (if anything) I did wrong.

    Not sure if this qualifies as a bug, but it seemed the most fitting category

  17. 2D Movement "facing"

    If you place the camera view to the side, and turn on "face camera when idle," the puppet still faces +Z(?) when idle.

    With that setting off and "face camera direction" on, the puppet seems to like to face "left" when I depossess. And while possessed, it faces away from +Z even if the camera is not there.

    Seems like with 2D Movement on, it assumes the camera is the 2D camera--ignoring the actual camera position.

  18. Puppet inner radius (follow) can go above outer radius

    This would mean the follow would never affect the puppet.

  19. Wipe via black with glow makes it white without glowing

    This glow works differently, even to other screenspace glow settings like the text gadget.

  20. Deleting a forum post doesn't actually delete or hide it in any way

    It just sets the author as "Anonymous" but still hangs around. I get why you'd not want to permanently delete the post, but it would be good if it was hidden to regular users at least.
