Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. Where have all the options in the Subtitle Displayer gone?

    In Early Access you could change opacity, brightness and fonts, now you have no options. Is this a bug? Have the options been moved to another tool?

  2. Crediting issue

    One of my creations on Dreams credits a user who probably shouldn't be there, I worked out why and I'm not sure if it's a bug or just an oversight or something.

    My creation uses an asset I saved from a separate creation of mine. That creation uses music from the other user, so that creation obviously has them credited. The problem is, the asset I saved from that creation is labelled as a remix of the creation with him still credited, even though I only used their music and the asset I made is completely different. So now, I'veā€¦

  3. 1st person camera is not resetting after using a camera gadget.

    I have a first person puppet. I use a timeline to do a flyover of my scene. After the camera timeline ends I would like it to go BACK into first person but it seems to always put the camera inside my character.

  4. Wireless receiver powered by default (Fresh from toolbar and undesignated)

    An example of a wireless receiver acting out on me. When I put it on the microchip from the toolbar it was activated by default without input. Pulling it of the chip and on again solved that issue but when I checked the zone properties of the receiver I found it completly acting weird. The microchip in question was part of another mircochip on an asset that was cloned beforehand. Also due to my process of coding I have a high amount of wireless transmitters and receivers both on the chip and the scene in general. Upon further kinvestigation thisā€¦

  6. Platforming shadow broken in Launch Version

    In Early Acces I made a character with platforming shadow turned on.
    I also edited all his seperate limbs and bodyparts to cast no shadow.
    This worked exactly as expected.
    The character had a platfoming shadow directly under him, and no other shadows.

    After updating to Launch Version, I noticed the character doesn't cast a shadow at all anymore. No normal shadow, but also no platforming shadow.

    To see what I mean:

    >Place a standard or deluxe puppet in a scene
    >Turn on Platforming Shadow in the controller gadget
    >Activate "cast no shadow" on all his individual bodyparts

  7. I got stuck on the TUTORIAL HAS BEEN SAVED screen after finishing the final part of the Start Dreaming: Motion Controllers Part 1 of 4.

    After finishing the final part of the tutorial after walking Connie into the doorway I got the ending screen as usual but the CONTINUE button is not letting me leave. I have tried all of the buttons on both controllers as well as the DS4 that I also have connected. The only way out I can imagine is quitting to the PS menu and reopening the game.

    I tried reproducing this but it didn't break on my second try. I did notice that my tutorial progress wasn't saved, but the level itself had saved and the stairs were by theā€¦

  8. the creating character's quests is bugged maybe?

    the creating character's quests says i need to completed 2 character tutorials, i have both done 2/2 which should unlock the character accessory kit but when i goto that kit the items are still locked.

    is this a bug or just a misunderstanding?

  9. Completed "aura" imp quests show wrong icon in "My Imp Quests"

    Completed "aura" imp quests (Art for Apple, Curate for Costa etc.) show the locked icon instead of their imp reward. The imp rewards for completed aura imp quests are still available to be used, and the quests still appear under the correct filter - completed - in My Imp Quests. The only problem is the icon.

  10. New stick controls don't move imp whilst grabbing forward or in depth

    I had to switch back to motion controls to complete second / new gameplay tutorial teaching you about imp gameplay.

    I followed but was unable to move the ball forward to drop into pipe with the new stick controls.

    I could do it with the motion control setting so assume a bug.

    You can't move the imp in depth whilst grabbing with the new stick controls.

  11. No gizmo for Teleporter when affected object is a logic gadget

    When a Teleporter gadget's affected object tweak is wired to another logic gadget, the Teleporter gadget has no gizmo.

    Repro steps:


    1. Create a Teleporter.

    2. Create another logic gadget - I used a microchip.

    3. Open the Teleporter's tweak menu.

    4. Wire the Teleporter's affected object tweak to the logic gadget you created in step 2.

    Observed: No Teleporter gizmo appears.

    Expected: Teleporter gizmo appears.

    And to take it further and show that the Teleporter gizmo is something important that we need for this case:


    1. Create a Tag.

    2. Start time.

    Observed: The logic gadget created in step 2 teleports to a point aā€¦

    Hello EternalDarknessz,

    Thanks for this post. There is a ticket for this in our database already.

    You can still access these options by going to you
    profile and selecting your creations and the options to archive and delete should be present on the right side of the text entry box.

    However we did allow players to have access to these options when going through Dreamshaping.

    This issue should be address in an upcoming patch.

  13. Teleporter gizmo reset bug from early access still present


    • place a sculpt

    • surface snap a microchip on it and open it

    • place a teleporter into the microchip

    • tweak the teleporter and move its gizmo away from the center of the sculpt

    • Now move the teleporter gadget inside the microchip a little

    • the teleporter gizmo will snap back to the center position of the sculpt

  15. Teleporter cannot be activated from a timeline

    Now this may be by design, but if you put a teleporter in a timeline, or have a keyframe activate a teleporter from a timeline the timeline stops. So this is either a bug, or its just something that we cant do.

    If it is the latter, how do you teleport stuff during a cut scene for example?

    Hello LadyLexUK,

    Thanks for the post, you should be able to activate teleport logic from timelines.

    In the case where you have a teleporter on the timeline, you will need to surface snap the timeline to the object its teleporting, or have wired from the teleporters “affect objects” output to the object you want to be teleported.

    In the case of using a key-frame on a timeline, again the teleporter gadget needs to be surfaced snapped to the object or wired to via the affect object output in order to teleport the object to the position you want.

  16. Timeline preview does not reflect trimming of sound effects

    When a sound effect is placed in a timeline, and then you trim the end of the sound effect, that trimming is reflected when you scrub the play head, but if you press the Play button in the Timeline Preview controls at the bottom of the timeline, the full sound effect plays as if it was not trimmed.

    To reproduce, simply follow the Cinematic Sound Design tutorial. You can reproduce it at the end of step 2 of this tutorial.

  17. Stuck on "Hold R2 to Charge" at The Meridian Forest on Art's Dream

    I've reinstalled multiple times and have most recent version. My R2 works perfectly fine but won't work during intro to The Meridian Forest where you hold R2 to charge.

  18. Dr_WhoData The players game jam is stuck on a dream. It won't let me go to the next 5 dreams

    The game jam is stuck on a Mr. Peabody dream. It won't let me past the five dreams I am on. If i try to skip to next dream it just starts that one over. I exited out of that dream and played the remaining 3 dreams. Now it keeps sending me back to the Mr. Peabody dream. I tried to vote for it to see if that would work. I can't even vote for it.   19. prizes didn't save online

    I've completed the homespace tutorial on one playstation, but after I continued to play on another playstation and my prize progress did not transfer. So in more detail, I had uploaded my saves from one ps4 that was still in early access. Then on another ps4 when dreams released for early access players I completed the homespace tutorial and unlocked all prizes. When I played back on my own PS4 at home I redownloaded my saves before starting (which were my saves from early access), then started Dreams and didn't have to redo the tutorial, had all online unlocked etc.ā€¦

  20. persistent variables+ global reset is very buggy

    If you set a variable as persistent and reset on rewind off and use global scene reset. the variables will only sometimes hold their values but even weirder they start skipping around their number order and if they are below the initial value they may reset to initial value OR jump to a random value its very buggy.
