Dreams Bugs šŸœ

With such a huge suite of creative tools, you may encounter occasional bugs in Dreams. Itā€™s really helpful for us to hear about them! If you discover an issue in Dreams, please check to see if anyone else has reported the issue before and if someone has, comment on it with your experiences. If not, post a new bug report here!

Hereā€™s some top tips to help us track down your bug as quickly as possible:

ā€¢ Give us a brief, clear summary of the bug. If necessary let us know what you think should be happening that isnā€™t.
ā€¢ Let us know the exact steps we need to follow to recreate your bug. For example -
ā€œLoad game > go to create mode > search for banana > stamp ā€œsuper cool bananaā€ > the banana didnā€™t load!"
ā€¢ If possible it really helps if you can include a screenshot or video of the problem.
ā€¢ Let us know the release version of the game ā€“ you can find this by having the Dreams icon highlighted on the Playstation homescreen, pressing ā€œoptionsā€ and then ā€œinformationā€. The bit we want is the Version number!

  1. Screen size issue

    Iā€™m missing the edges of the screen in game, adding an adjustable screen size setting like in most games would help.

  2. Rewinding issue

    Sometimes I will test the game by pressing R3 so I can see what is happening & make adjustments. Then sometimes when I rewind it (L3) it puts my vehicle in a random odd place. Sometimes very far away outside the play area, sometimes half or completely buried in the ground. It only happens on rare occasions but it's very annoying. The vehicle is running around normally before it happens & is definitely above the ground.

  3. Overlapping Keyframes don't function or allow me to animate them

    When I'm trying to overlap keyframes, the base keyframes works. However, when I try to edit the new keyframe, whenever I rotate anything it snaps back to it's original position and won't let me position it how I want or save that position. This glitches out all animations in the scene and makes them a little off, it's severely frustrating because hours of animating work are totaled in a single second when the keyframe stops functioning. For some reason the game will physically not let me edit the animation, this only seems to happen in timelines.

  4. Trigger zone reducing frame rate significantly

    Trigger zones that are large will completely tank performance unless they are set to detect 'tag' 'imp' or 'camera's

    Setting the zone shape to 'scene' also reduces the gameplay cost significantly.

    In a project with a gameplay cost of 40% without any trigger zones, adding a single trigger zone set to detect 'label' bumps the gameplay cost to 90%.
    Simply changing the the detection to 'tag ' drops this back down to 40%

  5. Puppet won't respawn correctly unless a second puppet respawns

    A bit hard to explain:

    I am making a level with optional co-op.
    The camera is isometric.
    There are 2 puppets.
    Players 2s puppet is not powered in single player.
    In single player everything works perfectly.

    In multiplayer weird things happen.

    If both players respawn at the same time it works fine.

    If the respawn input on either puppet is activated while the other puppets respawn is not, instead of respawning the dead puppets UI (text elements) will disappear even though they are still active.

    If I enter create mode while a puppets UI is missing (which happens when itsā€¦

  6. Pose/animation break bug for Mm's first person character

    This bug plagued all my FPS characters after the full release of Dreams. I thought it wouldn't affect projects going forward, but it seems the bug can even happen if you start fresh today. Basically, this bug makes the arms (connectors) of FPS characters glitch out and permanently break when transitioning from an animated state to a non-animated state while moving.

    Since all my FPS characters use the arms of the Media molecule first person character (but instead of being constantly animated they're made non-moveable and scoped onto the head), I hypothesized that this first person character has been brokenā€¦

    I'm unable 2 enter creation mode altough purchased full version while the demo has been at shopping sale.

    Need I to play trough / watch all introducion stuff before?

  8. Painting grouped with Sculpt wonā€™t move

    If I select a Painting and a Moveable Sculpt and Group them, even with the Group itself set to Moveable, wonā€™t allow the Painting to move.
    If I grab the Painting, hover over the sculpt and press L1+X to scope in that creates a group which does allow the Painting to move with the Sculpture.

  9. Imp moving on its own a little

    Every once in a while my imp slowly moves on its own in one direction. Recentering the imp seems to fix it so it isnā€™t much of an issue, but it can be annoying when sculpting more precise builds. No idea why this happens.

  10. Wrong speech in Create Tutorial 1

    I believe in the base creation tutorial (with the rocket) the narrator explains to use the STRAFE function. He says to hold a trigger and use LEFT STICK to move up and down. However, It is RIGHT STICK to move up and down.

    Unless i am doing something wrong in my controls.

    Love the game!! I am working on my homebase and tutorials. Trying to get a handle on movement, and creating. Such a beautiful experience. Great job Mm!

  11. Theres a bug!

    Im having a hard time creating my level, because of this new bug that just appered after the latest update. When moving tools like the detector the dectector's detection radaius just falls. Its just falls. You can see it fall if you open the detector menu, then grab the gadget. The green box simply just falls out of the scene. Sometimes it desides to float upward instead of falling. This is truly annoying when you forget this happens and accedently move the gadget. It may be hours later before you even relize the detection zone isnt in the right locationā€¦

  12. Emitter glitched when positioning the object emitted

    So here's what happens. I activate my Trigger Zone (the one that activates when a player is nearby the gadget) and it's supposed to emit a flashlight into my character's hands. I added the flashlight to the group of the hand to make it be there, but instead it floats somewhere different every time. FrustratingšŸ˜•

  14. Uploaded photo shows wrong game

    A user made a photo from my dream. The thumbnail is correct but when I open the photo it shows a different game but I can highlight the correct objects from my scene.

    On the indreams.me website it is correct.

  15. V2.09 ALL DATA, ALL CREATIONS ERASED

    I lost 3 months PLUS of work. I was working on my game, I recieved a spontaneous CORRUPTED DATA warning. I did nothing out of the USUAL. I saved my work, and decided to shut off for the night. Well I return later and EVERYTHING I ever made, everything I have ever put together has been absolutely destroyed. Everything is GONE. I tried rebuilding the data base and recieved no fix.
    I am back to square one and lost absolutely every thing I ever made. And for so much work I cant see my self returning to this platform. Itā€¦

    I'm guessing it's not meant to have spicyness/randomisation per note?

  17. Controller won't move the camera far from a sky gadget (Sculpting Mode)

    In assembly mode, sculpting, I used a sky gadget to get a plain grey sky, then put it far away to avoid mis-selecting it.

    I found the controller didn't move the camera too far in the opposite direction. ĀæLike if it was trying to be close to the gadget?.

    I can try to capture a video clip of the bug, it happened two different times in different creations.

    I'm using a ps pro and standard sony controller (no move)

  18. Wire nodes won't load

    I have a contraption with a lot of logic within a set of microchips. I have very neatly added wire nodes to keep the wiring clean and easy to keep track of.


    1. Edit and save neatly wired "Contraption A". Exit.

    2. Open an existing sculpt and use the search function.

    3. Select "Contraption A". Open its logic chip

    4. None of the wires have wire nodes. It's a slack jawed mess.

  19. Logic not running correctly the first frame(s) when starting a scene

    Logic doesnt update correctly the first frame when you enter a scene.

    For instance, signal manipulators doesn't pulse out when started powered, and variables does not update when "Set on power on". This happens when these gadgets are turned on as default. I presonally had to add a timer to my logic just to work around this issue so my logic would wait a couple frames before doing work or else it screwed up and didn't update.

  20. Receivers defaulting to "On (/receiving signal)" when placed on an existing puppet

    Hi MM! Congrats on the launch! Small bug here (I think) from an EA user here:

    I had an existing puppet in one of my scenes with a bunch of logic on it, including a number of wireless receivers. For some reason, in edit mode (or play mode), when I restart time, the receivers have "ON" signal regardless when time starts, even if the entire chip is off. This signal turns off (seemingly one frame after) time starts. I've double-checked it and this happens even when no matching transmitter exists in the level.
