can anyone help me getting the move controllers to work?
i am trying to get my moves to work since the beta started.
the controllers are connected, camera set up, tracking etc. works.
at first i thought i could start with the moves right away but then i read that i have to do all the tutorials and after that the moves would work.
that's not the case.
both orbs are on (blue and greenish)
i can see and control 1 imp. when i am lucky i can sometimes open the toolbox but can't pick any control (it just doesn't work)
the second imp isn't there. i can here some sounds when i press the buttons and i can toggle the camera with the move without the imp.
but nothing else.
what can i do to get it working?
i did all tutorials (dualshock)
what happens if i delete the application data? do i have to do all the tutorials again or is this stored online and all is good?
please! i really need help with this. i just cannot build anything with the dualshock. i watched ALL streams and i really want to control this with my moves.
i am so so ready for this but it simply doesn't work.
what can/should i do?
I havethe same problem. both ps3 move controllers work fine in other games but only one seems to work in dreams. Other controller functions but not working as intended . think its because of the original moves cntrollers v.1 that released during ps3 life cycle dont work with this game. such a pity
Hey Dreamers, hey Mm Staff <3
Before I go on trying to make my move controller work I have to ask if it even works with only one and the navigation controller.
I am using my ps3 move, works with and without the ps4 camera properly just not in dreams. There is absolute no reaction of the game with the controller and navigator.
Gonna complete the tutorials today but would love to know if it's even working like this or if I should buy a second move.
Would get a second used ps3 one since that's less expensive xD
you won't believe this!
in all my vr games both of my moves work flawlessly!
it doesn't matter if it´s job simulator, london heist, or any other move-compatible-game. both moves work! positioning tracking + gyro -> everything.
but not in dreams And (bought today) "beat saber" and also in "sculptVR"!
there i got the problem that 1 move is always were the camera is located (the real camera in my room...)
there is no way to re-calibrate it. and yes, i know that i can press "Start" in all those move-games + in PS4-Settings/Devices/VR/Tracking lights/Controller.
you can reboot the console, delete everything, install everything new...it won't "repair" that issue.
yeah...and with that it made *plong* in my head.
a friend of mine gave me one of his old moves and it works without any problems!!!
...yeah....somebody should have kept this moment and my facial expression with a phone ;)
i never encountered this problem!
especially games like "Job Simulator" (and some other move games) where both moves work flawlessly with positioning tracking and gyro i never thought i could/would have (such) a serious problem with my controllers.
but in those 3 games/apps -> Dreams Beta, Beat Saber and SculptVR i got this positioning error.
in dreams you can't even see that error!
in SculptVR i was looking for the other controller for settings, colors etc...and...yeah...after seeing the controller being fixed at the position where the real camera is (in my room) it clicked...
i don't know if this is a software or hardware related problem because in job simulator you move your hands not only in position/gyro but also in depth and if it didn't occur today in those 2 other games/apps i wouldn't ever have found out!
This problem is officially solved! at least for now.
Thank you so much for your kind help guys n gals!
you can add me if you want -> psn-id: boahnervtdas
i think this particular problem should be addressed for other users!
what do you guys think about that issue?
Have you tried turning the DS4 controller off when you're trying to use the moves?
@Soukthachone : of course i did!!!!
the other imp is not off-center or so.
- camera position is perfectly set up!
- the moves work in every(!) game. i can see 1 imp with the move. i have to be a little bit more in front of the tv but that's okay.
- i re-centered (with options holding) 10000x times. i also have to do this with the dualshock because after playing a few hours the imp goes a bit to the right side and i have to re-center.
question: what happens when i delete the "application data"? i mean my "save" for the dreams beta.
if i do this what happens with my progress?
is it gone then (if i delete this)?
because i already did ALL tutorials except the move one because in the video the guy tells me to control BOTH moves but i can only see 1 move(imp)
when i first launched the "game" there was something odd with one of the moves. i loaded up the game and started both moves when it was loading the game and i locked them on my account. all 3 controllers....
when i disconnect the dualshock it shows 2 moves activated (orbs are always glowing and the camera goes on + recognizes both of them) but i can only see 1 imp.
i thought "hmm maybe i have to pick another imp?" -> but that wasn't the case. didn't work.
i really need help because its a pain in the a** to build stuff with the dualshock. because of all those MM streams i already was locked in with moves (in my head;) and wanted to start right off with the moves. but then i read that i had to do all tutorials with the ds4 first, which i did!
i am totally lost here....
thanks to you two dreamers for responding!
is there anybody who knows where the error is?
maybe someone from MediaMolecule can help?
have you held down the OPTIONS button to recenter the imp? he might just be off screen.
Do your moves work with other software? Have you tried troubleshooting with those?
As a quick checklist, find the PSVR tips people give out to ensure optimum performance, things such as:
Camera position (personal experience tells me higher than TV pointing down works for my setup)
Lights, lamps, mirrors, pictures in the room can all affect move tracking by the camera. Drift can be an issue here.
Distance to camera - 5 feet is optimum, any more can lead to difficulty tracking depth and introduce wobble/jitter.
Obvious but worth a mention - hold SELECT on the right side of the move when you are in your most comfortable/neutral/central position to re-centre the imp/pointer.
Shake your moves vigorously and re-centre if tracking issues kick in, this can help loads.
Lighting level in room - avoid natural light from outdoors especially if conditions are changeable and will result int he room ambiance changing constantly. Keep it consistent and keep any lights out of the direct view of the camera.
As a sanity check, attempt to sign in to your ps4 using the problematic move controller to discount the idea that it might be non-functioning if you can have it control your one visible imp the same as the other.
Hope some of that helps, report back if you still have issues.
