Health modifier not modifying
I am all over the place today. Lol. First trivia now my other level.... I think there's something a matter with me when it comes to this game..... Ugh.
I have a section in my level, inside a building, where when u enter a certain checkpoint area it sends a signal to start a timeline. This timeline makes lava raise up through the building and you gotta jump on platforms and things of the sort to eventually get to a platform above the lava then continue on through the level rest of the area.
I have all this in a microchip and the microchip scoped in to a group with the lava and surface snapped onto it also. A health modifier is in that microchip. I have tried to take it out and individually snap it to the lava, to no avail.
I fell in the lava purposing to test the dying part and the resetting of the lava. My puppet will not die no matter how long I'm on the lava or how many times I jump in and out.
The health modifier is set to on impact, -50.
My puppet has a health manager.
I made sure the label "friend" was selected in both my puppet and the health modifiers label tab.
My puppet will die if he falls off the edge or something so I know he can die lol.
I just wanna burn my puppet alive in lava... Poor guy. I feel a SIMS moment coming on. Build a room and lock my puppet in and torture them.
Now that I went down that rabbit hole........
What in the.....? Seriously? I'm such a dufus. Idk how many times I saw that 50 and thought well I want it to subtract so by some form of magic it should lol......
I can't believe I did that. I had a test area for my puppet set up when I was working on him and has enough sense to put a minus. Idk what happened in my brain to not do it this time.
So you know you're adding 50 to health instead of subtracting 50 right? ;P
Here is a video. I went thru all the places I knew that was collidable and stuff then another clip showing him walking on lava. :-/
My puppet is collidable. I'll have to check the lava. I figured it was though because I didn't fall through it. My puppet just stands on top of the lava.
Update: lava is collidable too.
If the modifier is set to work on impacts, then you'll need a sculpt that is collidable and the puppet can collide with for it to trigger. If it uses a zone, the zone will have to cover the area so that when the puppet enters the zone its health will be modified.
