Is there a way to use data from an ANT+ device (such as an exercise bike) as input in Dreams?
I'm curious if there's any way to take output from an ANT+ device and use it for control input in dreams? I think it would be very cool to be able to develop games that incorporate exercise machines as part of the input (but not the only controller)
The feedback section is for suggestions and feature requests.
I am also interested in knowing more about this, as I am thinking of making games that provide a more intense bike workout in a fun environment.
Thank you for the quick responses. Hopefully it's something they could look into adding, as I know that VirZoom had input via their bike in Virzoom Arcade. I wonder if there is some way to use a controller converter (one of those things that lets you script controllers to use non-ps4 controllers on ps4) to interpret and convert the ANT+ input into an emulated ps4 output?
Is there a place to log enhancement requests for Dreams?
There's no way of getting this *during the game* though. Not right now.
As far as i know the only other way to get data in to dreams is using something called OSC, that is a network / packet protocol that can send any data type, but dreams is set up to only use midi sent via OSC, then it is utilized in a instrument.
If you can format the data as a OSC packet the instrument outputs might get you data, but i suspect the data needs to be recorded in performance mode.
Alex Evens of Mm has a midi to OSC app on github, that runs on a pc and sends midi from a keyboard connected to the pc via OSC to dreams, to test if the instrument data is passed without having to record it first.
