Sassiness Hip Movement Not Animating
Having some issues with puppets that originally had more hip movement along with the sassiness slider. Puppet is much more stiff and swaying more abruptly during procedural walks, and hip/lower torso no longer seems to "gyrate" properly.
I posted a short comparison on Twitter tonight including my original post showing Stacey Grapes and the walk I had made for her a month or so ago within that thread.
The Stacey Grapes puppet is Private but should be available to be seen by Mm staff for debugging(?) Username: TheOneironaut
Thanks for the report. We have heard similar from other users in backwards compatibility.
There is a content solution that might help in some cases but I think we need to revisit this area and add more sliders in future to support more varied characters.
Our focus was on making it possible to achieve better run cycles across all characters. Inadvertently this has knocked on to some characters that made heavy use of sassyness outside of run animation.
I had a think about this last night and realized there is a solution for Stacey Grapes and other puppets that want to have that early access sass (hip wiggle without the shoulder sway)
This can be achieved with an IK key frame on the upper body (torso).
Using a variable signals strength to power the key-frame depending on how much shoulder sway you want. In the example I use a counter to define my partial signal but you can use other methods.
This torso animation will need powering off or filtering out during some of your other animations I imagine will need turning off or filtering out.
See attached video for a demonstration :), I hope that helps you and other bring back the Early access Sass ;)
the animation for sassiness is messed up! the up and down movements in the hips are gone and it looks strange the shoulders swayy too much and the shoulders and hips rotate back and forth now . it looks akward and robotic it was fine before launch
I was able to get a server guru to push me the Private version of Stacey Grapes.
Sadly I was not able to use the given properties to recreate the walk cycle she once had.
Changes to sassyness have moved it away from the more feminine hip wiggle. Too a more generic full body twist with much more movement in the shoulders.
I'm sorry this has been detrimental to your specific character.
We will be revisiting procedural walk in the future and can look bring back the old hip based sass as a new slider.
Thank, for the report, Investigating.
