Grab and throw
please give us the ability to physically grab and throw objects with our "hands" in VR. I'm trying to make a bowling game, but the "grab it with your stretchy imp energy tether" approach doesn't work very well, i end up slinging the ball all over the place. I'd love to be able to make a realistic disc golf game as well, but I'd need to be able to throw the discs. Look at sports champions disc golf if you wanna see a vr control scheme that will work for that type of game. Since Sony refuses to port that game to VR, I wanna do it for them... but i can't with the current toolset.
Try making a hand tracker. Turn on "movable when not following." Plug a wire into the "follow player" input. Now it will follow your hand.
When the signal going into "follow player" goes off, then it will stop following and will become movable, and *should* fly away if you're trying to throw it.
So, you could have R2 wired into a calculator finding out if it's > 0.5 or something, and the result of that into "follow player" and it'll be stuck to your hand until you let go of R2 for example.
