What do you mean by it not being recorded? If you select the keyframe the object should have hatch marks across it showing it has something recorded for that object.

If you use the keyframe to record its position within the group, what happens?

Not sure what a "reference frame" is that you're referring to...

It sounds like you are keyframing the position of an object in the scene, which will restore that object to that position in the scene. Doesn't matter what the gyro is doing or where it was before. That's kind of the point of keyframes; to restore the recorded stuff.

You can get around this however, by grouping it up and recording the object's position within that group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG5YFn7npjg

Sounds odd. Video of this happening would be great, as well as an indreams link to the puppet that's causing the issue so we can test.

    I'm a little confused...

    1. You typed in "change text as desired."
    2. You typed in something else--let's say it was "other text."
    3. You undid, and the box said "change text as desired."
    4. You redid, and the box still said "change text as desired."

    Is that correct?

If you still have that recording it would be great if you could post it, so we could see it actually happening and get clues as to what the cause may be.

I'd recommend for a first-time couch creator, try making stuff that is easier, stuff Dreams makes easy for you to make. Don't jump into some big game you've always dreamed of before you know how to actually use Dreams. Start slow and work your way up, just as you would if you were learning anything else.

There are many setups people have already made in Dreams that do these kinds of things, including a first-person puppet from Mm which has up/down aiming. Basically, the way to do it is to just... do it. And once you know how it's done it isn't that difficult to pull off.

I have a series of tutorials on this stuff you may find useful which include indreams links to the rigs themselves if you just want to plonk them in. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX3qX-yI9vm7PIAosYyd4ii84Q6puufQB

I mean, if they add these features that's cool. But either way, in the meantime this stuff isn't too crazy to get started with.

Have you tried using a piston? You can send a signal into the "connector position" and it'll use its strength to move the piston to that position for example. Maybe that would give you the more springy forces?

I've used pistons and such connected to supporting objects and it worked just fine.

Something to bear in mind is LBP was purely 2D physics which is a lot easier to handle than 3D. You can pull odd a properly physical car though, many people have.

In some cases you can even just use a keyframe on a sculpt, reocrding its position, and turn up springyness.

    TAPgiles commented  ·

You can do this, just with a little extra work.

Add a slider connector. Record the target position of it with a keyframe, power the keyframe on, turn up "springyness."

I tend to not pin everything to the screen; it makes it a lot easier to move around that way. No need to scale or keep moving them out of the way of other windows, because you can just move the camera around as normal.

The tweak menus still pin to the screen by default, but they tend to only be open temporarily for me.

There's still a lot you can do with the follow-imp setup that doesn't involve grabbing things with the imp. But I take your general point.

I think this kind of functionality will be coming with the VR update; things like that have been hinted.

Oh, interesting... I didn't know it would do that.

So as you've found a solution did you mean to report it as a bug? If so, please post this in the bugs section. :D

One method I've found--which is just as hacky really--is to have an object teleport to the target tag. Have that look away from the thing that's tracking the target. Use an angle sensor in the tracker and link the "relative to object" to that object near the target. This will adjust the required rotation cone to match the angle of that object. So then it'll output a signal when the tracker is at the same angle as the target object which is looking away from the tracker.

    Complicated, right?

"Show/hide zones" is not a bug, it's a feature Mm have added into Dreams. So I think the title is confusing me. Are you saying that the bug is that it doesn't show the checkpoint zones, but it should show the checkpoint zones?

This is a forum in which people try to help each other and explore the ideas and bugs to further help Mm. That's what I do on this forum.

Not sure what you mean. Do you want that feature added? This feature already exists. And you can turn it on and off when you like.

A video demonstrating setting this up and the problem itself would be very useful. I've used tags in chips many times and not had this problem, so seeing it in action would help me understand what might be going on.

A keyframe will set the state of an object (eg. position) for as long as it's powered in the timeline. That's just how keyframes work. So if it's lasting as long as the keyframe is wide on the timeline, it's doing its job.

If you want it to blend smoothly with the previous and next keyframes then make it 1 frame long (just scale it down as much as possible). While it's one frame long, it will smooth out the animation. By default, keyframes are 1 frame long.

Her settings may prevent her name from being shown in certain circumstances, like on indreams and in streams and things like that. Perhaps that setting is affecting this? Or maybe even her PSN settings?

I find the way it works perfectly fine, myself. And it's intuitive because pretty much all search engines work the same way. You click on a result to go to that result and that's it.

What I tend to do is middle-click in the browser so it opens in a new tab. Then when I'm done with that result I just close that tab and click on the next result.

That said, this feature sounds fine.

Sounds like an interesting idea. I'm guessing it would be hard to give the engine a specific number of spheres it is allowed to use and then let it calculate where they are based on that vs just letting it fill it out to a certain density.
