    no , i just want (a standard in almost every engines really ) to have DOF not applied on alpha transparency if desired .
    Make the paint ignore DOF , just like the text gadget.

    It's touchy ,i know .But it seems it would be very powerfull.LBP had image input didn't it?
    Writing this i'm thinking too much detailled granularity could potentially kill the thermo.
    The idea is not to bake a full picture of colorado on a quad , but to improve material texturing by sampling the real (or not )world.

    thanks ,but no, this is not what i describe (or i explained badly).
    i would like the ability to 'bake' a picture (external source bitmap or camera ) into flecks (one fleck , one color from the bitmap) as a fast way to paint sculpts.
    eg : take a ground mud photo with all the color variations at the right place, and bake it into the detailled sculpt to add proper color look.k

    The key here ,is 'IMO', i guess .
    Let's say that 10/10 is the ability to pick the exact color you need when you need it.
    6 is being ok with random dritf around that.
    I very often fight that drift .Even if i scale the color selector to full screen.

    Dream is like doing virtual impressionism for a lot of people, a natural way of working on so many levels.Probably the shortest bridge i know between brain and 'canevas' (in 3d interactive space ,no less) .The way to chose your colors as it is is very bad an imprecise.This is of real importance.
    But i understand some can't see that.

    It would be so much more straightforward: You are in edit mode in a sculpt ,(you allready have the option to creat a new scuplt from inside a sculpt) ,so why not just carrying the parmeters and active shape and settings into the new scuplt from there ?
